Clarissa Sligh

Clarissa Sligh would take pictures in black and white then made people write the story behind the picture on it in white ink.

This is a picture of me that I have edited to make it appear older then I wrote on it in white ink to make it look like a Clarissa Sligh.

Arnulf Rainer

Arnulf Rainer takes a photograph and then draws over it. He ruins an image of a person to create something much more. He uses the natural contours of the subjects face and exaggerates them to create remarkable but at the same time rather scary pieces of art. He uses an array of colours and mainly focuses on curved lines.

Gerhard Richter

He is an artist that paints over previously taken photographs. As can be seen in his photo 'Golden Gate' above
He uses a picture of the iconic Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. The picture beneath the paint seems to be taken in the morning while the sun is rising and it's a clear day. Gerhard then uses black to change the theme of it and make it more sinister while still allowing the original image to be clearly seen. I plan to do a image based on the same idea but using pens instead of paint.

Gerhard appears to draw inspiration from his upbringing in Nazi Germany. The use of a nice, bright picture being covered over in dark paint symbolizes how the Nazi rule took place. At first no one suspected anything and then slowly over time it become darker and more evil with the invasion of Poland and enslavement of millions of people in death camps. The picture shows the evil infecting the lovely scene and if allowed to continue then it would ruin everything.

Music

In my life music plays a massive part, everyday I listen to music when I am traveling.
Often music is misplaced in the wrong genre. Now, music isn't about talent as technology can touch up any imperfections music seems to be about a certain look. Justin Bieber's music is mainly written by other artist. played over an auto tone and then edited in the studio. Real artists record in the back streets and can diversify to apply to more then one genre. Artists like Ed Sheeran fit this bill.
